Update history
Nuxt 4.6 introduces nuxt/server, a new import surface with Nuxt-owned types for request events, route rules and $fetch, so server code no longer depends directly on h3 or nitropack internals and can run unchanged across Nitro versions or the experimental pure-Vite @nuxt/vite-server; this ships alongside a rewritten, smaller and faster Nuxt CLI v4 with an interactive dev terminal UI and lock-file-based dev server coordination. The CLI v4 upgrade requires Node.js v22.21+, v24.11+ or v26+, removes the nuxt init command in favor of npm create nuxt@latest, and drops support for Nuxt 2 and @nuxt/bridge.
Matters for: Maintainers of Nuxt modules and teams building custom server builders or deployment adapters that need to survive upstream Nitro and h3 major version upgrades.
