StackFollow sets only one kind of cookie: an essential session cookie from Clerk, our sign-in provider, used to keep you signed in. It's required for the site to work if you have an account and isn't used for tracking.

Site analytics run on Umami, a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool. It never sets a cookie and never stores anything that identifies you personally, it counts visits using a rotating anonymized value, not a persistent identifier.

There are no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking cookies, and no cross-site tracking of any kind.

What we store

If you create an account, we store your email address (via Clerk) and the tools you add to your stack, so we can show them back to you and, if you opt in, send a weekly email of notable updates for those tools. You can remove tools from your stack or unsubscribe from that email at any time.

If you don't create an account, your stack selection is kept only in your browser's local storage and is never sent to us.
