Microsoft Excel

Copilot in Excel now supports synced connectors for pulling in work items, tickets, database rows, CRM records, and docs; grounding analysis in governed Power BI data with row-level security respected; brand kit and theme design skills for automated formatting; inline citations; support for AutoSave-off workbooks; and a choice between GPT-5.6 and Claude Opus 5 models. These are additive capabilities with no breaking changes noted.

Matters for: Organizations using Power BI alongside Excel for governed reporting, and teams that rely on connected data from CRM, ticketing, or database systems for spreadsheet analysis.

Copilot in Excel now supports additional financial and productivity data connectors (CB Insights, Daloopa, FactSet, Morningstar, PitchBook, S&P Global, HubSpot, Intercom, Linear, Notion, Canva, Google Calendar, Google Contacts), Claude Opus 4.8 models, personalization settings saved to your account, navigable links in chat responses, broader work context (people, emails, meetings, Teams chats, Loop pages), support for 30+ additional file types and files up to 50 MB, a new PivotTable #SPILL! error state, and Insiders-only custom skills and workbook rules for Windows and Mac. None of these changes are breaking, so no existing workflows or files require modification to continue working.

Matters for: Financial analysts and teams pulling public and private market data into Excel via Copilot connectors such as FactSet, PitchBook, and S&P Global.
