Jetpack Compose

Jetpack Compose 1.12 is now stable, adding Mesh Gradients, full Wide Color Gamut and HDR rendering support, named areas in Grid, deeper Credential Manager integration, a keyed SideEffect overload for faster one-shot effects, and new APIs for editable rich-text formatting and programmatic text selection control. This release includes a breaking change to Modifier.onFirstVisible(), so apps using that modifier must update their code when upgrading to Compose BOM 2026.08.00.

Matters for: Relevant for teams building custom text editors with inline rich-text formatting in BasicTextField, and for apps targeting modern wide-gamut or HDR displays.
