Vertex AI Platform Adds Governance Monitoring, New GA Models

Engineers can now track semantic governance policy metrics (request throughput, latency, ALLOW/DENY verdicts, and token usage) directly in Cloud Monitoring, use Gemini 3.7 Flash in GA with agentic video processing enabled by default, and run the CodeMender CLI with process-level sandboxing on by default to protect workstations from unintended file changes. Claude Opus 5 is now available in Model Garden, and a Preview Feedback service lets teams collect and analyze end-user thumbs-up/down feedback alongside agent traces.

Matters for: Teams running production agent pipelines on Google Cloud who need policy compliance auditing, automated code-remediation tooling, and access to multiple foundation model providers within one managed platform.
