Google BigQuery

BigQuery now lets you add a WHERE clause inside an aggregate function call to filter the function's input with a boolean expression, currently in preview. It also automatically ingests and makes searchable metadata for BigQuery Graph within Knowledge Catalog, also in preview.

Matters for: Data engineers and analysts running graph analytics or building complex aggregate queries in BigQuery.

BigQuery generative AI functions now support the Gemini models gemini-3.5-flash-lite, gemini-3.6-flash, and gemini-3.7-flash. To use these newer models, existing function calls must be updated to reference the new model names explicitly, as the previously supported models remain unchanged by default.

Matters for: Teams building generative AI pipelines directly in BigQuery SQL who need to select specific Gemini model versions for their workloads.
